Where the ROMs Live
The R36H ships with two microSD slots. TF1 holds the operating system and should be left alone; TF2 is the games card and is the one you add files to. The Base System Is Completely Solved
Every standard Mega Drive and Genesis cartridge runs at full speed on the R36H. Genesis Plus GX is a mature, highly accurate emulator and the RK3326 has more than enough performance for it, including the FM synthesis that gives the system its distinctive sound. Master System and Game Gear titles also run through the same core, so three Sega libraries are covered by one emulator.
The Add-Ons Are A Different Story
Sega released two hardware expansions and they behave very differently on this device. Sega CD games run well, but they need the correct regional BIOS file present or they will not boot at all — and because Sega CD titles are disc images rather than cartridges, they take considerably more space on your card. The 32X is the harder case: it added two additional processors, and emulating those on top of the base console pushes the RK3326 to its limit. Expect some 32X titles to run acceptably and others to drop frames.

Six-Button Games Are Better Here Than On Original Hardware
Street Fighter II and the later fighting games were designed for Sega's six-button pad, which many people never owned.
