ArkOS and R36H: Check Compatibility First
We cannot confirm a general ArkOS installation path for every R36H-branded handheld. Seller variants and hardware revisions can differ, and a similar model name or chipset is not proof that an ArkOS image will work on your unit.
Do not use a similar device image
Do not select an image for a different handheld, including one with a similar processor or family name, unless the ArkOS project explicitly lists your exact device and revision as a supported target.
Check the current project material
- Read the ArkOS project documentation, including its current device list and release notes.
- Match the exact product label, board/revision, and image filename against the project’s own documentation.
- Only proceed if that documentation explicitly confirms the match. If it does not, treat the device as unsupported rather than trying another model’s image or device-tree file.
- Follow the project’s own current installation, checksum, first-boot, and recovery instructions for the confirmed target.
Protect a working device
- Back up personal saves and settings, then verify the backup before changing anything.
- Keep the original card and any seller-provided recovery material intact where possible.
- Download images only from the project’s official release location and validate any checksum it publishes.
- Stop if the support match, release documentation, or recovery path is unclear. Avoid random panel files, profiles, button mappings, or commands from related models.
